Units are available in all common voltages and configurations, and also in a variety of surge current capacity ratings from 50 through 400 kA.

• the surge current capacity you need: 80kA, 100kA, 120kA, 160kA, 200kA, 250kA, 300kA, 400kA (higher capacity means higher/better protection). The 200kA to 400kA ratings are typically used for service entrance panels; the 80kA to 160kA ratings are typically used for branch panels (assuming service panels are already protected)
